WavePilot is a study tool built by a student at Tulane. This page says what we keep, why, and how to get rid of it. It is written to be read.
What we collect
Your email address and a password, because that is how you sign in. Passwords are stored hashed by our auth provider; we never see them.
The files you upload to a room: slides, notes, syllabi. They are stored so the room can read them; their contents are visible only to that room’s members.
What the room produces from those files — study guides, practice exams, answers — and the messages members send each other in the room.
If you join the waitlist: your email, a referral code, and who referred you.
Two days after you sign up we send you one email asking how WavePilot could be better and what you want to see. It is the only email of its kind. If you answer, we keep what you wrote, and a copy is emailed to us with your address so we know who said it.
Basic usage analytics through PostHog — which pages load, which buttons get used — so we can see what is confusing. Once you sign in, PostHog is told your account id and email so your events line up; before that, it sees only anonymous events. No ad tracking, no data brokers. Sessions may be recorded to see how the app is used — where people click, where they get stuck. Anything you type is masked, and the rooms themselves — your files, your messages, what agents write, the room’s notes — are blanked before a recording leaves your browser, so a recording shows the shape of a session, not its contents. A click is logged by which button it was, never by what the button said; the names you give agents and files can still appear as labels.
How your files are used
When you ask the team for a study guide, a practice exam or an answer, the relevant files from your room are sent to Anthropic’s API to generate it. Under Anthropic’s commercial API terms, that request is processed to produce the output and is not used to train models.
We do not sell your files, your outputs or your messages, and we do not use them for anything except running the room you put them in.
Who can see what
Room members can see everything in the room. Someone holding an invite link can see the room’s name, course, exam date, member count, the names of the files and outputs, and what the team has been up to — never the contents of a file, an output, or a message — until they sign in and join. Share links with the people you mean to.
Anyone can make an account with any email. Accounts without a Tulane email can view the rooms they are invited to, but cannot add files, build or run agents, chat or leave notes; the few founding accounts we add by hand are the one exception.
We can see what we need to keep the service running. We do not read your rooms for any other reason.
How long we keep it
A room becomes read-only a week after its exam. Its files and outputs stay so you can still read them.
Delete a file and it is gone from storage. Account deletion is a request to us for now — message @wavepilot.ai on Instagram from the account you signed up with, and we remove your account, your waitlist entry and everything tied to them by hand.
Your choices
You can delete files you uploaded at any time from the room. Leaving the waitlist or deleting your account is a message to us, handled by hand, until there is a button for it.
Questions or requests: message @wavepilot.ai on Instagram.
